JAMAN SOUTH MP LEADS HIS COEQUALS IN A 5K DONATION TO THE BONO REGIONAL TV3- GMB REP

Since the first time a beauty contest was organized in Ghana in the year 1957, the Bono Region has never recorded victory out of the grand finale in any beauty pageant.

The first edition of a beauty contest in Ghana was tagged ‘Miss Ghana’,which was won by Monica Amekoafia in 1957 under the leadership of Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Monica represented the Trans-Volta Togoland, the present day Volta region. The contestants were tagged with numbers and she was number 9. That is the secrete why ladies from the Volta region are called number 9.

Since that time, no contestant from the then Bono Ahafo Region has ever won any beauty pageant in Ghana. Could it be a different story tonight? or history will continue to repeat itself. Since 2003, the TV3 Ghana’s most beautiful pageant has reached the peak of public interest. Mostly especially, the Bono Region as their first ever contestant reaches the final stage of the competition.

Right from the beginning of the context, not only did traditional leaders show interest, political figures were also showing high level of commitment in putting the contest in a state of tension with all the urgency it deserves.

Yesterday, NDC Members of Parliament of the Bono Regio made a cash donation to support their representative for this highly reputable TV3 Ghana’s Most Beautiful programme. The MP for Jaman South constituency, [ where the Bono rep- Miss Eva Mfodwo hails from ] Hon. Williams Okofo-Dateh, in conjunction with the other MPs have shown high level of interest and commitment in the on going pageant.

Out of five thousand five hundred Ghana cedis[5,500.00 cedis], Hon. Williams Okofo-Dateh, the host MP has already contributed 2,000.00 cedis for the previous voting trends. The rest of the money was raised yesterday to the tune of 3,500.00 cedis to be used to support of the voting system for the final stage

The caucus spotted the Host MP, [Hon. Williams Okofo-Dateh], The MP for Jaman North[ Hon. Ahenkwah Yaw Frederick ], MP for Tain [ Hon.Sulemana Adams Ramzy ], MP for Wenchi [ Hon.Seidu Haruna ] and their leader, MP for Dormaa west [ Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah].

The team ‘Bono for gold ‘ represented by Nana Yaa Ansuaa, a Queen Mother of the Drobo Traditional Council received the Cash and expressed the team’s gratification for the donation and other forms of support from the MP’s caucus. The MP’S caucus also tipped-off that, they have charged their supporters to contribute for Mfodwo to bring the golden crown to the Bono Region.

That is the change we voted for
