Majority leader ‘punches’ Kennedy Agyapong over Anas, dares him to prove allegations


The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Kennedy Agyapong says Anas has no moral grounds to investigate acts of alleged corruption – But his leader in Parliament has dared him to prove all his allegations against Anas or shut up The Majority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has dared Kennedy Agyapong to provide evidence to back his claims that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is corrupt.

According to him, Mr. Agyapong is alone in this “fight” against Anas and must desist from making “unpalatable” comments about the undercover journalist if he has no proof.

Mr. Agyapong has been one of the strongest critics of Anas in the wake of the Tiger Eye PI member’s latest exposé titled ‘Number 12’.

The Assin Central MP has frequently accused Anas as being corrupt, whiles airing his disapproval of the methods used by the investigative journalist to uncover corruption.

In his view, Anas uses entrapment and enticement to get to his victims which, he believes, goes against the ethics of journalism.

In recent weeks, the NPP lawmaker has also threatened to expose Anas’ misdealings and went ahead to release certain photos on the internet claiming they were that of the undercover journalist.

Also, on Monday Mr. Agyapong released an audio tape claiming it contained contents of Anas engaging other persons over some money issue.

However, responding to the MP’s incessant attacks on Anas, the Majority Leader of Parliament has challenged Mr. Agyapong to prove his allegations or desist from making such unfounded comments.

“Kennedy Agyapong is not an angel. Kennedy is on his own in this fight against Anas,” Mr. Mensah-Bonsu told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

“Ken Agyapong has been advised several times to desist from making unpalatable comments about Anas and rather prove with facts if he has anything against him.

“This is because Anas’ method of investigation in his latest work on corruption in football administration is no different from previous works,” the Suame MP added.

Anas is set to premier his latest exposé titled ‘Number 12’ on June 6&7, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Center.
