How often would Ghana be blessed with great talents? A question. Sometimes we overlook them , sometimes we hail them , sometimes we pretend we don’t see but quietly observe them from a far and sometimes we accept and worship them.
Very often I hear people say let’s support our own, well! Supporting our own is the way to go but supporting our own with our hearts , strengths and might would be more encouraging. In 20 years of actively following music I have had a privilege to see highlife artistes like Lumba to Kwabena Sika Pelli, hiplife artistes from Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafuor to Kofi kinaata. I have equally seen hip hop artistes like Sarkodie, EL, Edem and trust me the most recent and “dopest” of all I am currently witnessing is a Young gentleman called LJ (Lyrical Joe).
My discovery of LJ began like a mirage when I accidentally downloaded a song titled Tina on which he featured Tinny a man I outdoor and bought his makola Kwakwe cassette way back. Listening caught my attention and decided to post a comment saying “Wink This guy has a bit of EL, Lil shaker and very talented, I love his style” little did I know this comment would get LJ excited to come for an interview on my hangout show. LJ intrigued me and my viewers on that day and trust me, he was that great.
If i want to talk about LJ I must just type for days and still get lots of things to say, but I would cut it short and tell you about the Kill LP, personally I was just electrified seating at the front row. He nailed his performance! In fact! Killed It! The 25 tracks album I received with his autograph would be treasured by me forever. “LJ over Kendrick Lamar” – Yaw Boateng Boom said. LJ is the new King kindly confirm that with this video below. Details of the launch would be reported on Lensradio soon
